OlliOlli World is what happens when developers actually care about making a good game instead of a good monetization scheme. It's a side-scrolling skateboarding platformer with gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and buttery-smooth mechanics that reward skill and practice.
The 'concerns' are almost laughable—some fart jokes and drug references so subtle that Common Sense Media specifically notes most kids won't even notice them. No in-app purchases, no toxic chat, just pure gameplay. Your kid will fail a lot, retry a lot, and eventually feel like a skateboarding god when they finally nail that combo.
It's challenging enough to build real skills (timing, pattern recognition, persistence) but not so punishing that kids rage-quit. The DLC adds alien biomes and space gear, which is delightfully weird. If you're looking for a game that's actually safe, actually fun, and actually teaches something about perseverance, this is a solid pick.
