Let's be crystal clear: This is NOT the Twilight vampire franchise with Bella and Edward. This is an obscure 2008 Japanese horror film based on a videogame, and with a 4/10 IMDb rating, it's essentially unwatchable.
The premise—honor students trapped in a revenge-driven alternate reality game—could theoretically be interesting, but the execution appears to be terrible. J-horror can be genuinely artful (think Ringu or Ju-On), but this isn't that. This is the kind of film that gets lost to time for good reason.
For parents: there's zero reason to have this on your radar. It's not age-appropriate for kids, it's not entertaining for teens, and even horror-loving adults would be better served watching literally any other J-horror film from this era. The revenge plot offers nothing positive, and the poor ratings suggest it's not even scary-good, just bad-bad.
If your teen somehow discovers this exists and wants to watch it, you can safely redirect them to better horror options without feeling like you're being overprotective. Sometimes a 4/10 is exactly what it sounds like.
