Look, Family Guy knows exactly what it is: an offensive, boundary-pushing animated sitcom that trades in shock value and crude humor. It's been on the air for 25+ years because adults find it funny, not because it's good for anyone.
From a WISE perspective, it fails almost every metric. It's deliberately unwholesome, offers minimal enrichment beyond pop culture literacy, and is absolutely unsafe for kids to watch. The animation format tricks people into thinking it's family-friendly when it's anything but.
If you're an adult who enjoys irreverent comedy and can appreciate satire without taking it as life advice, fine—watch away. But keep it far away from kids. The show normalizes cruelty, bullying, and offensive stereotypes as humor, and there's zero redeeming developmental value for young viewers.
The cultural impact is real, and the writing can be clever, but this is a hard pass for family viewing. Save it for after the kids are in bed, if at all.
