Look, Sonic Boom isn't going to hurt your kid, but it's not going to help them either. It's the TV equivalent of empty calories—safe, colorful, and utterly forgettable.
The show takes beloved Sonic characters and puts them through the most predictable cartoon formula imaginable: bad guy builds robot, good guys smash robot, repeat 104 times across two seasons. The IMDB rating of 6.9 tells you everything—even fans think it's just 'fine.'
If your kid is deep in a Sonic phase, they'll probably enjoy this for a few episodes before realizing it's the same thing over and over. There are better Sonic options out there (the recent movies, the newer Prime series), and definitely better action cartoons if you're not married to the blue hedgehog.
It's not offensively bad, just aggressively mediocre. If it keeps your 7-year-old occupied while you make dinner, mission accomplished. Just don't expect them to learn anything or remember a single episode a week later.
