Perplexity is the antidote to the messy, ad-cluttered search experience we've all grown to hate. For a student, it’s a massive upgrade over a standard search engine because it organizes information into a coherent narrative with clear footnotes.
However, it isn't a 'safe' sandbox. It’s a tool for the open web. It won't protect your kid from mature content if they go looking for it, and it won't stop them from taking a 'hallucinated' lie as gospel truth. Use it as a training ground for research skills, not as a digital babysitter.
