Elementary School (Ages 5-10)
The Verdict: Keep it mostly off-limits for schoolwork. At this age, the goal is building the literal neural pathways for reading, writing, and basic logic. Using AI now is like using an exoskeleton before you’ve learned to walk. If they’re curious, use ChatGPT together to make up a silly bedtime story, but keep it out of the backpack.
Middle School (Ages 11-13)
