Moose Math is what educational apps should be: well-designed, curriculum-aligned, and completely free of the predatory garbage that plagues most kids' apps. Since Khan Academy took over Duck Duck Moose, everything became free with no ads—a legitimately amazing deal.
The math content is solid and thoughtfully structured. Kids practice counting, addition, subtraction, shapes, and patterns through five different activities, earning rewards to build a little city. It's not groundbreaking, but it doesn't need to be. The interface is intuitive enough that preschoolers can navigate it solo, and the parent dashboard actually helps you see what they're working on.
The main drawback? It's showing its age. The 2013 graphics are functional but a bit dated compared to flashier modern apps. And let's be real—this is math drill practice dressed up with cute moose characters, not some revolutionary learning experience. But for what it is (free, safe, educational screen time that actually teaches something), it's a no-brainer to have on the tablet.
