Clips (or Clips Cut) is basically the 'off-brand' version of a professional editing suite. It’s powerful, it’s free, and it’ll get the job done if your kid wants to make a montage of their Minecraft wins or a family vacation reel.
That said, you get what you pay for. In this case, 'free' means your kid is the product. The app is littered with ads and is clearly designed to feed the social media beast. If your kid is on an iPhone, use the official Apple Clips or iMovie instead—they're cleaner and safer. If you're on Android, this is a decent creative tool, just make sure they know how to dodge the 'Install Now' buttons that pop up between edits.
