Tomorrowland is the kind of movie that makes you wish it were better because the bones are so good. It's got George Clooney, a brilliant young lead in Britt Robertson, jaw-dropping visuals, and a genuinely hopeful message about science and optimism saving humanity. But man, does it get lost in its own ambition.
The first act is great—mysterious, intriguing, fun. Then it bogs down in exposition and convoluted world-building that even adults struggle to follow. By the time you get to the big reveal, you're more exhausted than inspired. The 49% Rotten Tomatoes score isn't wrong.
That said, if you've got a 10-year-old who loves science, space, and big ideas, this might still land. The optimism-vs-pessimism theme is genuinely valuable in 2025, and Casey is a fantastic role model. Just know you're signing up for a beautiful mess, not a tight adventure. Set expectations accordingly, maybe watch it in two sittings, and focus on the conversation afterward rather than the plot holes during.
