PayPal is the 'boring' grandfather of fintech, and that's its greatest strength. It isn't trying to be a social network (unlike Venmo), but it has recently bloated itself with high-risk features like crypto and predatory 'buy now, pay later' loans that a teen's brain isn't quite wired to resist yet.
For a teen, it’s a rite of passage. It’s safe if you treat it like a bank vault and dangerous if you treat it like a game. Use it as a supervised training ground for financial responsibility, but keep a very close eye on the 'Offers' and 'Crypto' tabs which are designed to separate you from your cash.
