Five planets, a starship and a Jedi quest
Parzi's Star Wars Mod, made by a modder called Parzivail, turns Minecraft into a trip through the Star Wars galaxy. The original version adds up to five planets, each a separate world like the Nether: the desert of Tatooine with Mos Eisley and its two suns, the snow of Hoth, the forests of Endor and Kashyyyk. Different planets have different merchants, and some gear can only be bought on one of them.
You can fly starships from a first-person cockpit with working radar and targeting, ride speeders, and tame creatures like the Tauntaun. There are over a dozen blasters, plus droids and armor sets. The three lightsabers, in blue, green and red, are earned in survival mode by working through a Jedi quest, which gives the whole thing a goal beyond fighting.
The original stopped, and Galaxies took over
Parzivail stopped updating the original for lack of time to maintain it and moved to a rewrite called Galaxies: Parzi's Star Wars Mod. That means two choices:
- The original has the most to do, but it runs only on Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge. Set up a separate launcher profile for that version.
- Galaxies runs on Minecraft 1.19 to 1.20.2 with Fabric. It has planets, weapons, vehicles, NPCs and character customization, but it is an alpha whose content works in Creative mode only. Its most recent build came out in March 2024.
Getting it safely
Both versions are free on CurseForge, and Galaxies is also on Modrinth. Older fan sites still link the original through ad-link shorteners, and Star Wars add-ons on phone stores are unrelated to it. None of it runs on Bedrock, consoles or tablets.
For a kid who wants Star Wars without any setup, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the easier pick. For a kid who wants vehicles and blasters inside Minecraft, Flan's Mod with its Star Wars pack is the other option. The Star Wars Minecraft mods guide covers both.
