Minecraft Bedrock is the rare game that lives up to the hype. It's a true creative sandbox that teaches kids to think spatially, solve problems, and collaborate—all while they're having a blast building rollercoasters or surviving zombie sieges.
The cross-platform play is a huge win for families with mixed devices, and the curated Marketplace means you're not wading through sketchy user-generated content like in some other games. The parental controls are solid: you can lock down chat, restrict who joins worlds, and cap spending on cosmetics.
That said, you do need to set those controls up—online multiplayer without guardrails can expose kids to strangers, and while the Marketplace isn't predatory, it does tempt kids to spend real money on skins and maps. Younger kids (under 7) benefit from sticking to offline or local play until they understand online safety.
Bottom line: This is one of the best games for kids, period. It's creative, educational, and endlessly replayable. Just take 10 minutes to configure the safety settings, and you're golden.
