This is the gold standard for middle-grade fantasy. Riordan manages to be inclusive, funny, and educational without ever feeling like he’s lecturing.
It’s a massive step up in scale from the original series, but it’s exactly what kids need as they grow out of 'little kid' books. If your kid is into mythology or just likes a good underdog story, this is a no-brainer. It's one of those rare series that kids actually finish.
