Fazbear Frights is the literary equivalent of a dark ride at a theme park. It’s well-written, genuinely creepy, and a bit mean-spirited at times.
It’s a solid win for getting kids to put down the controller and pick up a book, provided they have the stomach for some 'body horror' and psychological twists. Just don't let the 'Scholastic' branding fool you into thinking this is for the elementary school set—it’s much darker than the Goosebumps books you remember.
This is firmly for the 11+ crowd. If your kid is still checking under the bed for monsters, skip this. But for middle schoolers who think they're too cool for 'baby' books, this is their sweet spot.
