How much does CogniZen Kids cost?

The first lesson of each of the seven tracks is free, with no account needed. The full program is $7.99 a month. At launch it also offers $5.99 a month or $39 a year, which the site says will rise, plus a one-time $74 plan for the first 50 families. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

What age is CogniZen Kids for?

The developer says 6 to 12. The lessons involve a fair amount of reading, so it fits best from about 7, with a parent reading along for younger kids.

Does CogniZen Kids collect my child's data?

Less than most apps. Kids never type free text or talk to an AI, and there are no ads in the kids' area. The privacy policy does list what it keeps: the child's first name or display name, age group, lesson progress, and multiple-choice feelings check-ins. Advertising pixels run on the parent-facing marketing pages only.

Is there AI chat in CogniZen Kids?

Not for kids. The AI lessons teach how AI works and where it fails using pre-written choices. The only AI-generated features are in the Parent Corner.

What devices does CogniZen Kids work on?

Any web browser, with nothing to install, and there is an Android app. There is no iPhone or iPad app, but it runs in Safari.

Screenwise Verdict

CogniZen Kids takes on topics most learning apps skip: how to question what you see online, what AI gets wrong, how to handle a big feeling, and how money works. Lessons are short stories with a mentor character and a multiple-choice challenge, so a child finishes one in about ten minutes.

It suits kids from about 7 to 12 who read comfortably, and it works best when a parent follows up on what the lesson covered. There is no chat, no free-text typing and no ads for kids.

It is new, and it is a subscription. Try the free first lesson of a few tracks before starting the trial.

Age Fit

Best for about 7 to 12. The developer says 6 to 12, but the lessons ask a child to read several paragraphs, so a 6-year-old will need a parent reading along. The critical-thinking and AI lessons land best from about 9, when kids are meeting ads, videos and chatbots on their own.

WISE Breakdown

Wholesome

Warm, encouraging lessons about thinking clearly and handling feelings, led by friendly mentor characters. The tone treats kids as capable.

Imaginative

Story-led lessons and a world map give it some life, but the work itself is reading and multiple-choice answers, with little for a child to create.

Safe

No chat, no free-text input, no AI conversations and no ads for kids. It keeps a small amount of child data under a parent account, and streaks and collectibles pull kids back.

Enriching

Covers real skills rarely taught elsewhere, from spotting persuasion and AI errors to naming feelings and bouncing back. It is new, and how much sticks without a parent following up is unproven.

Why It Might Be Great

Covers skills few kids' apps touch: persuasion tricks, rage bait, fact-checking, how AI works and where it fails.
Emotional skills sit next to thinking skills: naming feelings, handling setbacks, and fear as a useful alarm.
Lessons are short and end at a clear finish line, with no autoplay into the next one.
Kids never type free text or chat with an AI; every answer is multiple choice.
The first lesson of every track is free with no account, so you can see it before you pay.

What to Watch For

Lessons are text-heavy. A 6- or 7-year-old who is still learning to read will need someone beside them.
Streaks, collectible Gem Guardians and a Battle Arena reward coming back. Watch whether your child plays for the lesson or for the prize.
It collects less data than most apps, not none: the privacy policy lists a child's first name, age group, lesson progress and multiple-choice feelings check-ins, and the parent pages use advertising pixels.
It is a subscription after the 7-day trial, and launch prices are set to rise.
Brand new, with little independent review yet beyond one five-star rating from the Educational App Store.

Conversation Starters

"What was the trick in today's lesson? Have you seen someone use it on you?"
"What is one thing an AI chatbot could get wrong? How would you check?"
"When did you last feel a big feeling? What was it trying to tell you?"

Deep Dive

Seven tracks on the skills school skips

CogniZen Kids is built around seven tracks, each led by a mentor character: Mind Mastery (focus and critical thinking), Strategy Lab (decisions and risk), Future Builders (how computers and AI work), Heart Smarts (feelings and friendship), Body Science (sleep, food and movement), Bounce Back (resilience) and Money Minds. Each track has 32 lessons, grouped into zones, and each lesson opens with a short story and ends with a multiple-choice challenge.

The Mind Mastery list shows where it is going: fact versus opinion, persuasion tricks, rage bait, "the algorithm knows," logical fallacies. That is media literacy most kids never get taught, pitched at the age they start meeting it.

The AI lessons teach doubt

A separate AI Lab teaches kids that chatbots make things up, flatter you and carry bias, and that sources need checking. Kids never chat with an AI to learn this. Every choice they make is pre-written. The Educational App Store, which gave CogniZen Kids 5 out of 5 in 2026, called this its most distinctive part.

Light on data, with a subscription and a reward loop

Kids never type free text, never chat, and see no ads. The privacy policy is specific about what it keeps: a first name or display name, an age group, lesson progress and multiple-choice feelings check-ins, all under a parent account. The marketing pages parents see use Meta and TikTok pixels. That is a small footprint for a kids' product, and smaller than most.

The program also runs on streaks, collectible Gem Guardians and a Battle Arena that opens after three lessons. For most kids that helps them come back. For a child who chases rewards, keep an eye on whether the lessons still hold their attention.

Start with the free lessons

The first lesson of every track is free, with no account and no card. Try two or three with your child, starting with the track that matches something your family is working on. If it lands, the trial gives you a week of the full program.
