This series is a total win for the 'I'm bored with baby books' phase. It's high-quality, gentle fantasy that actually respects a child's intelligence without scaring them half to death.
It’s not 'high literature' that will change your life, but it’s exactly what you want on the nightstand when your kid is trying to prove they can read a 'real' chapter book by themselves. It’s clean, it’s fast, and it’s a great alternative to the mindless tie-in books you usually find at the Scholastic fair.
