Super Monsters is competent preschool programming that does exactly what it promises: gentle lessons wrapped in a cute monster package. It's not going to change your kid's life or yours, but if you need something safe and positive for a 4-year-old, this fits the bill.
The show's strength is its complete lack of anything objectionable—no scary moments despite the monster theme, no chaotic pacing, no annoying characters. Its weakness is also its complete lack of anything remarkable. The IMDb 6.1 rating tells the story: it's fine. Parents appreciate the positive messages, kids enjoy the colorful characters, but nobody's writing think pieces about it.
If your preschooler is into it, great—there are far worse things they could be watching. But if they're not interested, you're not missing out on essential viewing. It's the TV equivalent of a perfectly adequate snack: nutritious enough, pleasant enough, forgettable enough.
