This is a solid, actually-watchable family action movie that won't make you want to claw your eyes out during the third rewatch. It's not going to change your kid's life or teach them calculus, but it's got heart, humor, and enough Jim Carrey scenery-chewing to keep adults entertained too.
The action is there but it's video game action—colorful, fast, nobody's actually getting hurt in disturbing ways. Your kid learns that teamwork matters and that being a hero means helping others, which is nice but not exactly groundbreaking. The real win here is that it's a 2022 movie that kids genuinely want to watch, so you're not fighting them to sit through something "good for them."
It's popcorn entertainment done right for the elementary school crowd. Let them watch it, enjoy the peace, and maybe have a quick chat about friendship afterward if you're feeling ambitious.
