This is one of the rare shows that's both genuinely wholesome AND actually interesting. Phil Rosenthal (creator of Everybody Loves Raymond) brings childlike joy to exploring world cuisines, and his warmth is the real secret ingredient.
The educational value is legit—kids will learn about geography, history, and cultural traditions while watching someone eat pasta in Italy or street food in Bangkok. Phil's respectful curiosity models exactly the kind of openness we want kids to have about different cultures.
That said, this is NOT a kids' show. It's slow, dialogue-heavy, and requires some cultural sophistication to fully appreciate. Younger kids will be bored silly. But for families with tweens and teens who are interested in food, travel, or just good storytelling, this is genuinely excellent co-viewing content.
The WISE score reflects that it's wonderful content that delivers on all fronts—but with the understanding that it's really for ages 10+ and adults. If your family enjoys trying new restaurants or talking about travel, this is a gem.
