This is a legitimately good book that does something hard: it makes presidential history funny and accessible without dumbing it down or picking political sides. The illustrations are delightful, the facts are interesting, and the whole thing humanizes leadership in a way that's healthy for kids.

But here's the problem: it's 2004 vintage, which means it stops at George W. Bush. That's Obama, Trump, Biden, and potentially Trump again missing from the story. For a book about presidents, that's a big gap. Kids reading this in 2025 are getting 20+ years of outdated information.

If you can find a newer edition (there are updated versions), grab that instead. If you're stuck with this 2004 version, it's still worth reading for the approach and humor, but you'll need to supplement with "and then five more presidents happened." It's a bit like showing kids a map that stops at 48 states—still useful, but clearly incomplete.
