Is this the channel with the animated soldiers?

No. You're likely thinking of the massive channel Simple History. This one is an amateur channel that uses a similar name but has very low production value and very few views.

Is the information in these videos accurate?

It's hard to say. Unlike major educational channels that cite sources or have academic advisors, this is a solo project. It's fine for a surface-level overview, but don't use it as a primary source for a school paper.

Why hasn't the channel posted in years?

The creator mentioned in the synopsis that they would launch social media at 100 subscribers. They never hit that goal, and it appears they abandoned the project in early 2021.

Is there any inappropriate content?

The topics themselves cover war and political extremism (fascism, etc.), which are heavy, but the presentation is academic. The biggest 'risk' is the unmoderated YouTube comment section.

Screenwise Verdict

Don't confuse this with the famous, high-budget animated channel of the same name. This is a very small, amateur project that hasn't seen an update in years.

While the topics are great for a history report, the production quality is bottom-tier. In a world where you can watch oversimplified or the 'real' Simple History, there's almost no reason to spend time here. It's a relic of a creator who tried to start something and moved on.

Age Fit

Best for kids 10 and up. The topics (fascism, nuclear bombs, war) require a level of maturity that younger elementary kids might not have yet.

WISE Breakdown

Wholesome

The channel's intent is purely educational, focusing on historical facts and timelines without the high-octane chaos of typical 'influencer' content.

Imaginative

Presentation is basic and functional rather than creative. It lacks the unique visual style or storytelling flair found in top-tier educational channels.

Safe

While the topics are academic, history involves war, fascism, and nuclear weapons. Comments are enabled, and the channel lacks professional moderation.

Enriching

Covers high-value academic subjects like the Manhattan Project and the Roman Empire, though the depth of research is unverified.

Parent Info

✓

Why It Might Be Great

Academic topics like the Vikings and WWII are handled in short, digestible clips for quick reference.
No-frills approach means there are no loud intros or personality-driven distractions common in modern YouTube.
Broad coverage of complex political concepts like communism and fascism for a middle-school audience.

⚠

What to Watch For

Low production value is the standard here; expect basic visuals and amateur audio compared to major educational brands.
Sensitive history including the rise of fascism and Nazi-era events are discussed by an unverified solo creator.
Dead channel status means no new content has been uploaded since early 2021, and the promised social features never launched.

Conversation Starters

"Why do you think some YouTube channels get millions of views while others only get ten?"
"How can we tell if a history video on the internet is actually accurate or just someone's opinion?"
"Which of these historical eras—Rome, Vikings, or WWII—seems the most interesting to learn more about?"

Deep Dive

The 'Other' Simple History

If you're searching for the channel mentioned in Forbes, this isn't it. This specific channel, @simplifiedhistory3185, is a tiny operation with fewer than 20 videos and a handful of subscribers. It’s essentially a time capsule of an amateur creator’s attempt to break into the educational space in 2020.

Content vs. Quality

The range of topics is actually impressive for such a small channel. You've got the Manhattan Project, the history of the Vikings, and even deep dives into political ideologies like communism. However, the 'Simplified' in the title applies to the production as much as the history. The synopsis is riddled with typos, and the engagement is virtually non-existent.

For a parent, the risk here isn't 'bad' content—it's just mediocre content. If your kid is doing a deep dive into the Roman Empire, they are much better served by a verified channel with a research team. This channel is a reminder that on YouTube, anyone can be a history teacher, but not everyone has the credentials to back it up.
