MindShift CBT is a legitimately useful mental health tool—evidence-based, free, no ads, and packed with actual therapeutic strategies. It's not trying to be fun or gamified; it's trying to teach you CBT skills that work. For teens struggling with anxiety or adults looking for self-help between therapy sessions, it's solid.
The problem? It's shutting down in March 2025. All your data—progress tracking, journal entries, everything—gets deleted. So while it might be worth downloading for a few months to learn the techniques, don't invest emotionally in the progress tracking features.
Also, this is not a substitute for therapy if your kid is really struggling. It's a supplement. And younger kids won't have the cognitive maturity or motivation to use it independently—they'd need you or a therapist guiding them through it.
Bottom line: Good tool, bad timing. Use it while you can, but start looking for alternatives now.
