LittleBigPlanet 3 is a legitimately creative playground that turns kids into game designers. The level editor is surprisingly powerful, and the wholesome platforming is genuinely fun. The big asterisk: servers went dark in 2024, so the community-sharing magic that made this franchise special is gone.
If you're buying it for offline play or local co-op, it's still a solid choice—clean content, real creativity tools, and good problem-solving challenges. But it's definitely showing its age (2014 was a while ago), and without the online ecosystem, you're missing half the experience.
For a kid interested in game design or creative building, this is still worthwhile at the right price. Just know you're getting a retro experience, not a living, breathing community.
