A guitar that splits her music down the middle
Set 43031 is a guitar about 20 inches tall, half a curved purple acoustic and half an angular electric, joined down the center. LEGO built it around the two sides of her music, the punk songs and the quiet ones. Brickset's reviewer called it one of the best guitar models he has seen from LEGO.
It opens three ways
The electric half is hinged in two places and swings out to reveal two concert stages, one above the other, with purple space backdrops on one and red portraits on the other.
The electric half opens to two stages, one for each minifigure.
On the acoustic side, turning a black knob pushes a small dressing room out of the body: a chair, a mirror ringed with bulbs, lipstick, notebooks and a red megaphone. A handle tucked into the curve opens a third, empty compartment.
Turn the dial on the acoustic side and a dressing room slides out of the body.
Two Olivias
One minifigure wears the red sparkly dress from the GUTS World Tour and carries a red electric guitar with her butterfly logo. The other wears a white corseted dress and plays an acoustic. Each has two printed faces. The white skirt piece means only the red-dress Olivia can sit in the dressing room chair.
The build
1,228 pieces, and the reviewer enjoyed it all the way through: curved, sideways-mounted brickwork on the acoustic body, a solid neck, and a hinge mechanism on the electric side. The sticker sheet is large. It takes 13 of them to spell her name on the sign that sticks out of the body, so do those together.
Is it worth $119.99?
About 9.8 cents a piece. It is the set to buy for a big fan who wants one large model on the wall. For more building per dollar, the Secret Storage is $40 less.
It sells for $119.99 at LEGO.com and on Amazon. The rest of the line is on the Olivia Rodrigo LEGO page, and our Olivia Rodrigo guide covers the music.
