Batman is the whole show
LEGO’s DC theme lists Superman and Wonder Woman on the roster, but walk the aisle and it is Batmobiles wall to wall. It has been that way since 2006, when the theme launched with a Batcave and an Arkham Asylum, and 2026 made it official: the 20th-anniversary Legendary Batmobile Collection is three $29.99 movie cars and a 678-piece Batman Logo for the wall, golden minifigures and commemorative coins included.
The 4+ end of the line: 63 pieces, a Starter Brick chassis, and a Mr. Freeze to catch.
The same obsession at three difficulty settings
The 4+ cars, like the 63-piece Batman & Batmobile vs. Mr. Freeze, start on a big pre-formed chassis so a preschooler gets a rolling Batmobile before snack time. The 9+ mainline is where the movie cars live, around $30 and 300 pieces, with Speed Champions-level detail and the wave’s one knock: sticker sheets, 12 of them on the Batman & Robin car. At the top sit the 18+ heirlooms, the 2,049-piece Batmobile Tumbler and the 2,363-piece 1989 Batwing, both retired and trading above retail.
The Batman Batmobile (76332): 330 pieces, a removable roof, and the muscle-car silhouette from the 2022 film.
Your kid builds the car years before the movie
The Batmobiles come from PG-13 films. The sets carry none of that: a black muscle car is a black muscle car, and a seven-year-old can love the vehicle without knowing a frame of the source. When the shelf turns into “can we watch Batman?”, The LEGO Batman Movie matches the box ages, and our parent’s guide to it covers the rest. The 2026 boxes add a screen hook of their own: QR codes that unlock each car in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the Arkham-styled game TT Games shipped in May 2026. Optional, but a kid who scans the code will ask about the game, so know your answer.
The $30 cars are the sweet spot
At 220 to 330 pieces for $29.99, the anniversary Batmobiles cost less per piece than most licensed sets, and each includes a minifigure worth keeping. The $79.99 Batman Logo is the display buy for the kid whose room has a theme. The collector vehicles are a different sport: budget $200 and up, and buy during production, not after retirement.
