This is a solid, safe entry in the LEGO game franchise that does exactly what it says on the box. Your kid gets to smash LEGO bricks, solve environmental puzzles, and play as basically every DC character you've heard of (and many you haven't).
The formula is tried-and-true: cartoon violence, co-op friendly, genuinely funny at times, and requires enough brain power to feel satisfying without being frustrating. One parent noted their 4-year-old needed help with 15-20% of the game, which tracks - this is better suited for 7+.
The one hiccup: a level where Batman gets mind-controlled and attacks his allies. It's not graphic, but it's the kind of thing that might make a sensitive 6-year-old worried. For most kids in the target range, it's just another plot point.
At this point, LEGO games are comfort food - you know what you're getting, and if your kid likes Batman and building/breaking things, this delivers. It's a decade old now, so don't expect cutting-edge graphics, but the gameplay holds up fine.
