Dodo Peak is what you'd call a perfectly competent arcade platformer with a wholesome coat of paint. The rescue-your-babies premise is sweet, the gameplay is clean and safe (no monetization garbage, no online weirdness), and it builds legitimate motor skills.
That said, it's not going to blow anyone's mind. It's a 2019 indie that plays like a polished mobile game—fun in bursts, but not particularly deep or innovative. Think of it as a solid palate cleanser between bigger, more complex games. If your kid loves retro platformers or needs something genuinely safe for a road trip on Switch, this delivers. Just don't expect it to compete with Mario or Celeste for attention span.
Bottom line: Good, not great. A nice little game that does exactly what it promises without any nonsense.
