Bone is a stone-cold classic. If you're worried about your kid reading 'brain rot' comics, this is the antidote. It’s sophisticated, beautifully drawn, and has more emotional depth than most live-action movies.
It was written in the 90s but feels like it could have been released this morning. It’s one of those rare pieces of media that actually lives up to the hype. Buy the 'Complete Edition'—it’s a brick of a book, but your kids will probably wear the cover off from re-reading it.
Perfect for ages 8 and up. While younger kids might like the 'cartoon' look, the plot gets complex and the monsters get scary enough that 3rd or 4th grade is the sweet spot.

Generally very safe, but the Rat Creatures can be genuinely frightening for younger kids, and the story gets progressively darker with fantasy violence and high-stakes peril. No major red flags otherwise.
