Wild Horse Nine is an adult thriller/drama with serious critical heat, sitting at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.1 on Letterboxd. It follows two longtime CIA partners, Chris and Lee, who get dispatched by their bureau chief from Santiago out to Easter Island right before the 1973 Chilean coup. Between their own dark pasts, active conspiracies, and Chris bonding with a pair of rebellious students, the trip goes sideways fast.
If you have a high school upperclassman who likes history, espionage, or sharp auteur cinema, this is a strong co-watch that gives you plenty to talk about afterward. For younger kids, skip it and save it for your own queue after they go to bed.
