Shiz University, rebuilt for avatars
Wicked RP opened on Roblox in October 2024, about a month before the first Wicked film reached theaters. Sawhorse Productions built it for Universal Pictures, and the team used LiDAR scans and behind-the-scenes footage of the film's sets to recreate Shiz University and Munchkinland. Players could also visit Emerald City and the Wizard's throne room.
You made a student, picked a name and pronouns, and roleplayed. Kids went to classes, earned Aura Points, reserved a dorm room, danced in the Ozdust Ballroom, and flew on Elphaba's broom or floated in Glinda's bubble. A Best Friends meter tracked the friendships they built along the way.
Free to walk in, with a shop and a ticket counter
Entry cost nothing, and some costume pieces from the film were free. Other avatar items sold for Robux, and the experience linked to Fandango so players could buy tickets to the movie. Universal's award entry reported $226,000 in in-game revenue, which it put back into the experience. For a parent, that is the usual Roblox arrangement: free to enter, with things to buy once inside. Roblox's parental controls include monthly spending limits, and our Roblox guide covers the current chat and age settings.
It closed in 2026
Universal kept the experience running through the second film, Wicked: For Good, adding areas and missions in late 2025. In 2026 it posted a final chapter: a passport of stamps from Oz's best-known locations and a final party with a commemorative badge. The servers have been empty since.
By then it had passed 29 million visits and 290,000 favorites. If your kid is asking about it after an old video, the films are where the story lives now, both rated PG.
