If you are looking for a mild creature feature for movie night, Whistle is nowhere near that list. Corin Hardy's R-rated supernatural horror film takes an ancient Aztec death whistle and uses it as a launching pad for a parade of gruesome deaths target high school misfits.
The setup is pure popcorn slasher: blow the whistle, summon the entity destined to kill you in the future, and attempt to survive. It delivers on graphic body horror, jump scares, and intense visual distress, but the non-stop splatter, dark backstory topics like overdose, and wall-to-wall profanity mean this is strictly late-night viewing for older teens and genre enthusiasts.
