We Baby Bears is what happens when a studio tries to capitalize on a beloved property by making it younger and louder. The original We Bare Bears had genuine heart, clever writing, and emotional depth that worked for kids and adults. This prequel trades all that for hyperactive cartoon chaos aimed at the youngest possible audience.
It's not terrible—it's safe, colorful, and will probably entertain a 5-year-old for 11 minutes at a time. But multiple reviews from both kids and parents note it lacks the warmth and quality of its predecessor. The 5.8 IMDb rating tells the story: this is mediocre kids' TV that won't offend but won't inspire either.
If your young kid is already into We Bare Bears, they might enjoy seeing the characters as babies. But if you're choosing between the two shows, just watch the original. It's better in every way, and your older kids can actually watch it with you without everyone getting a headache from the frenetic pacing.
