Look, this is what it is: a loud, chaotic superhero sequel that critics found mediocre and audiences found... fine. The 58% critic score and 49 Metacritic aren't great, and the 5.9 IMDb rating tells you this isn't essential viewing.
For teens 14+ who are into Marvel-adjacent chaos and don't mind serial killer villains, it's 90 minutes of CGI battles and Tom Hardy talking to himself. It's not enriching, it's not particularly imaginative, and it's definitely not safe for younger kids given the violence and dark themes.
The Eddie/Venom buddy dynamic has some humor, but ultimately this is forgettable popcorn fare. If your teen is begging to watch it because they loved the first one, it's not going to rot their brain—but don't expect much beyond spectacle. There are better superhero movies out there.
