Here's the thing: this show has all the hallmarks of a streaming service trying to recapture Twilight/Vampire Diaries magic and completely missing the mark. Critics gave it a pass (77%), but actual viewers hated it (44%), which tells you it's technically competent but fundamentally boring.
It got cancelled after one season, so you're investing in a story with no ending. The content is mature enough that it's only appropriate for 15+, but the execution is apparently so mediocre that even teens didn't care enough to keep watching.
Unless your teen is absolutely desperate for vampire content and has already exhausted every other option, skip this one. It's not offensively bad, but it's the definition of forgettable—which is maybe worse.
