Turbo is the definition of "fine." It's a perfectly serviceable animated movie with a fun premise, positive messages, and zero content concerns. Your kids will enjoy it while it's on, then promptly forget about it.
The 6.7 IMDb rating tells the story: it's not bad, but it's not Ratatouille either. DreamWorks was clearly trying to capture that underdog sports movie magic, but the execution is vanilla. The snail-racing concept is creative, the animation is colorful, and the message about following your dreams is solid—but nothing really sticks.
If you need 96 minutes of safe, inoffensive entertainment for elementary-age kids, Turbo delivers. Just don't expect it to become a family favorite or provide much rewatch value. It's the animated equivalent of a participation trophy: everyone involved tried, and nobody got hurt, but you're not hanging it on the wall.
