Trolls World Tour is exactly what it promises: a loud, bright, energetic musical romp with a decent message about diversity buried under layers of glitter and auto-tune. It's not trying to be Pixar-level profound, and that's okay.
The good news: it's genuinely safe, promotes kindness and acceptance, and exposes kids to different music genres in a fun way. The 'respect differences' message is relevant and delivered clearly enough that even young kids will get it.
The reality check: this is sensory overload in movie form. If your kid is sensitive to noise, chaos, or gets overstimulated easily, you might want to take breaks. It's also pretty forgettable—entertaining in the moment but not something that'll stick with them or that they'll quote for years.
It's a solid rainy day pick for the younger elementary crowd, especially if you need 91 minutes of distraction that won't give you anything to worry about. Just maybe have some quiet time planned afterward.
