Let's be real: this show is nearly 50 years old and it shows. The entire premise—guy pretends to be gay to live with two women, hilarity ensues—was edgy for 1977 but is just uncomfortable now.
The humor is 100% based on sexual innuendo, eavesdropping, and 'misunderstandings' about who's sleeping with whom. Every episode follows the same formula: someone overhears something, jumps to the wrong conclusion (usually about sex), chaos happens, laugh track plays, everything resolves.
The gender politics are rough. The women are constantly objectified, the landlord is a creepy lech, and the jokes about Jack being 'not a real man' because he pretends to be gay are... yikes. Even the IMDb rating of 7.6 is purely nostalgia.
For modern kids? This is virtually unwatchable. The pacing is slow, the jokes don't land, and the whole vibe is just... old. There are thousands of better sitcoms that actually hold up. Unless you're doing a cultural anthropology project on 1970s television, skip this one.
