If you remember this movie from childhood, you probably remember Tom Selleck singing to a baby in a tuxedo. Rewatching it now reveals a wild structural split: half the movie is a charming domestic comedy, and the other half is an intense narcotic drop thriller involving bad guys at the front door with knives and guns.
The comedic chemistry between Selleck, Danson, and Guttenberg carries the funny parts well enough. But unless your kids are old enough to handle 80s crime tropes alongside their diaper jokes, it works better as a retro throwback for parents than a modern family movie night pick.
