Look, The Wild Thornberrys Movie has its heart in the right place—sisterly sacrifice, wildlife conservation, family adventure. The critics gave it 80%, which is respectable. But that 51% audience score and 5.7 IMDb rating? That's the real tea.
This is a 2002 Nickelodeon movie that feels every bit of its 23 years. The animation is flat, the pacing drags, and modern kids raised on Pixar and Spider-Verse will struggle to stay engaged. It's wholesome and safe, sure, but it's also kind of... forgettable?
If your younger elementary kid loved the TV show or is really into animals, it's a fine rainy day watch. But don't expect them to ask for a rewatch. The themes are good, the execution is just meh. There are better family adventure movies from this era (Lilo & Stitch came out the same year and absolutely smokes this one).
