The Wild Beyond is the closer to a trilogy that actually respects its audience. It deals with climate change and extinction without being a boring textbook or a preachy lecture.
It’s got talking animals, sure, but it’s more Princess Mononoke than Dr. Dolittle. If your kid liked the first two books, this is a non-negotiable must-read. If they haven't started the series yet, go grab 'The Last Wild' first. It’s modern, urgent, and actually well-written enough that you might find yourself flipping through it after they go to bed.
