The Stranger is classic Harlan Coben pulp adapted for Netflix: fast, melodramatic, and relentless with its cliffhangers. The plot kicks off when a stranger approaches suburban dad Adam Price at a sports club and drops a bomb about his wife's fake pregnancy. What follows is a cascading mess of murder, blackmail, and secret double lives across a quiet English town.
It is solid adult binge-viewing, but entirely unfit for younger kids. Between a graphic decapitated alpaca, teenagers spiking drinks at forest raves, and point-blank violence, the show wears its TV-MA rating openly. If you have older teens who love puzzle-box mystery thrillers, it works—just do not expect a wholesome family watch.
