The Legend of Qin is a middle-of-the-road wuxia drama that's worth a look if your kid is already obsessed with martial arts fantasy or the original Qin's Moon animation. It’s got style, a cool historical backdrop, and some genuinely great fight choreography.
However, it suffers from the classic 'C-drama slump' where the plot starts to meander and lose steam about halfway through its run. It's not a masterpiece, but it’s a decent cultural deep-dive for a kid who wants to see how Chinese television handles the 'chosen one' trope.
