This isn't the 'The Last Firehawk' series you'll see on every Scholastic book fair shelf today (that’s the one with the owl). This 2014 version is more like 'Earth Day: The Quest.'
It’s sweet, safe, and great for that specific kid who wants to be a park ranger. While the 'geeks and nerds' bully tropes feel a little dusty and the plot is pretty predictable, the message about protecting wildlife is solid. It’s not exactly a page-turner for the 'Skibidi' generation, but it’s functional, wholesome filler for a reading log.
