The Flintstones is a visual triumph trapped inside a mediocre script. In 1994, this was a massive blockbuster event, but today it feels like a curious relic of an era when Hollywood tried to turn every 60s cartoon into a live-action 'family' movie with weirdly adult themes.
If you're watching it, you're watching it for the craft. The creature work from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is top-tier, and the physical Bedrock sets are a joy. Just be prepared to explain what 'embezzlement' is, or better yet, just fast-forward to the parts with the Dictabird.
