This is a solid, no-nonsense mystery book. It’s the kind of thing you can feel good about leaving in the backseat of the car; it’s not 'brain rot' and it actually requires some brainpower to follow the clues.
While it’s from 2009, mysteries like this don't really age. A sick pig and a mysterious culprit are just as interesting to a 7-year-old today as they were fifteen years ago. It’s a great 'quiet time' pick that encourages reading over scrolling.
