Look, this movie exists because the first Boss Baby made money, not because anyone had a great story to tell. The critics savaged it (46% on RT, 39 on Metacritic), and even the Letterboxd film nerds gave it a dismal 2.4/5.
That said, your 6-year-old probably doesn't read Metacritic. If your kid loved the first movie and wants more baby-in-a-suit antics, this delivers exactly that—no more, no less. It's safe, loud, colorful, and forgettable.
The sibling reconciliation angle is the movie's one genuine heart, but it's buried under so much noise and corporate baby nonsense that it barely registers. You won't feel good about the screen time, but you also won't need to worry about nightmares or inappropriate content.
Bottom line: This is fine for a sick day or a long car ride on a tablet, but there are dozens of better animated options that will actually entertain the whole family. If your kid isn't specifically asking for Boss Baby 2, just... pick something else.
