If your kid is obsessed with the Clone Wars, this is a must-read. Don't confuse it with the 2023 TV show—this book stands on its own as a tight, emotional story about a girl trying to do some good in a bad galaxy.
It’s a rare Star Wars tie-in that actually has something to say about trauma and recovery. It’s clean, it’s exciting, and it’s a great way to get a 'screen-only' kid to actually pick up a book. It’s solid storytelling that respects the audience's intelligence without getting too dark.

Ahsoka models incredible resilience. She’s a former child soldier trying to find a moral compass in a galaxy that just turned its back on her. Her instinct to protect a small farming community, even at personal risk, is the kind of 'doing the right thing' we want kids to see.
