But here's the truth: this is borderline unwatchable for most modern kids. We're talking 90s production values, glacial pacing, 45-minute episodes that take their sweet time, and a stationary space station setting that lacks TNG's exploration vibe. The first two seasons especially drag before the show finds its groove.

If you've got a patient teen who loves deep worldbuilding and can handle slow burns, DS9 rewards investment with some of the best serialized storytelling in Trek history. For everyone else? This is a hard sell in 2025. The themes are timeless; the execution screams 1993.
