This is one of those rare reboots that actually justifies its existence. Netflix's She-Ra takes an '80s toy commercial and transforms it into something with genuine emotional depth, stellar representation, and characters who feel like real people (well, real magical princesses fighting an intergalactic empire, but you know).
The LGBTQ+ representation here isn't a Very Special Episode—it's just woven into the fabric of the show naturally. If that's a dealbreaker for your family, you'll know immediately. If it's not, your kids get to see a world where different kinds of love and identity just... exist, no big deal.
The show does tackle some heavy stuff—abusive relationships, war, propaganda, trauma—but handles it with care and age-appropriate framing. It's not Bluey-level gentle, but it's not trying to be. It's giving kids credit for being able to handle complexity, which is refreshing.
The animation style is modern and appealing, the voice acting is solid, and the pacing keeps things moving. At five seasons (2018-2020), it's complete with a proper ending, so no cliffhanger frustration. It holds up well for 2025 viewing—not dated at all.
