This is Scooby-Doo doing what Scooby-Doo does—a safe, mildly entertaining mystery with zero surprises. The magic academy setting is a nice twist, and seeing Velma's sister adds a touch of heart, but let's be real: this is a 2010 direct-to-video release that feels every bit as formulaic as it sounds.
It's perfectly fine for younger elementary kids who still love the gang and need something truly safe to watch. The problem-solving is basic, the scares are nonexistent, and the whole thing wraps up exactly as you'd expect. It won't rot anyone's brain, but it also won't inspire much beyond 'that was fine.'
If you've got a 6-year-old who's into mysteries and needs something utterly predictable, go for it. If your kid is 10+, they'll probably roll their eyes and ask for something with actual stakes.
